Kipon has announced the new manual focus HandeVision IBELUX 40mm f/0.85 compact system camera lens for Micro Four Thirds, Sony NEX mount, Fujifilm X mount and Canon EOS M lens mounts. The lens is due to be on sale from Feb 25th 2014 in Europe, North America, Japan, and Russia.

The IBELUX 40mm f/0.85 lens gives a 60mm equivalent on Fujifilm X and Sony NEX (APS-C) cameras, 64mm equivalent on Canon EOS M cameras, and 80mm equivalent on Micro Four Thirds camera. The lens features 10 elements in 8 groups with a 10 blade aperture, and measures 128mm in length, with a 74mm diameter and 67mm filter thread. The lens weighs a whopping 1.2kg and will cost in the region of 2000 US Dollars.
