Kodak Announces Three New Compact Cameras

Kodak has announced the launch of three new 'Friend Zoom' compact cameras, the FZ151, FZ51 and FZ41.

Kodak Announces Three New Compact Cameras: PixPro FZ151
Kodak have announced the launch of three new compact PixPro cameras called the 'Friend Zoom' range.

The three new cameras vary from 4x to 15x zoom, and all have a 16mp CCD sensor. JK Imaging Ltd has teamed up with ASIA Optical to bring out new ranges of cameras in action, creative, entry level and long zoom markets.

The FZ151 is a 15x zoom camera with a super wide angle from 24mm lens. It also features a 3 inch screen, OIS and HD 720p video recording, and will be available for £99.99.

The FZ51 is a more slim and compact option, with a 5x zoom. It will be available for £59.99 and also features 720p HD recording as well as a 2.7 inch screen.

Kodak Announces Three New Compact Cameras: PixPro FZ41

The FZ41 is an entry level camera, yet still has a 16 megapixel sensor and 720p HD movie recording. It has a 4x optical zoom and a 27mm wide angle lens, and takes AA batteries. It will be availbale for £49.99.

I was hoping they wasn't going down the generic mass market route but rather make premium cameras with the wonderful Kodak colours that people used to love.

Oh well, but I’ll wait until the reviews until I make judgement.

Where did it all go wrong Kodak?

This just seems to be an exercise in turning cheap low end quality cameras made in some chinese sweatshop by JKImaging who have been fortunate or daft enough to buy the Kodak brand name.
