Award-winning business Lakeland Photographic Holidays, based at Braithwaite in the Western Lake District, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.
Over the course of the last decade and a half, John Gravett, who owns and runs the business with his wife Gail, has taken more than a million photographs, welcomed over 5,000 guests and taken on average 520 bookings per year – 60% of which are from repeat visitors.
John and Gail run over 40 photography workshops each year, both in the Lake District and further afield to destinations including America, Iceland, France, Italy and India and Lakeland Photographic Holidays now has a reputation for offering some of the best residential photography courses in the UK.
John, who is one of the UK’s top landscape photographers, said:
"We are very proud to be celebrating Lakeland Photographic Holidays’ 15th anniversary. We started the business in 1999 with 20 bookings for the next five months and now we take 20 bookings every two weeks!
We have taken the business from being film based to being completely digital, survived the foot and mouth crisis and ridden out the latest recession. We’ve had to work hard but are delighted with what we have achieved and like to think that our photography expertise, local knowledge and genuine hospitality set us apart. We’d like to thank all our guests, past and present, for their support over the years."
