Tamron Lens Choices For Spring Photos

Spring is a great time to photograph all sorts of different subjects, so we've put together a guide to which lens will work best for the most popular spring subjects. Read on to find out more:

Flower photography -  At this time of year, flowers begin to bloom all over the place, from your very own back garden to local parks and woodland. For photographing singular flowers or small clumps of daffodils, for example, a macro lens will be ideal, such as the affordable Tamron 55-200mm f/4-5.6. This lens is great for altering the amount of flowers in the frame thanks to its variable zoom, and still getting in nice and close to the flowers. 

Baby Animals - Spring is also a time when lambs, ducklings and illusive young rabbits fill our fields and river banks. To get a good shot of these animals without disturbing them, it will be best to use a mid or long range zoom lens. For shots of lambs and ducklings, which you will most likely have relatively close access to, then a lens such as the 70-200mm f/2.8 will be ideal. This will allow you to pick out a few sheep and lambs in the field, or alternatively capture a wider vista including the scenery if you wish. 

For longer range subjects, such as rabbits that can be quite skittish and are relatively small anyway, then something with a longer range like the new 150-600mm f/5-6.3 lens will be ideal. It will allow you to get sharp, blur-free images with the use of a tripod and a bit of patience. 

Fresh landscapes -  Spring is a time when the landscape looks fresh, with all the new buds and fresh leaves appearing on the trees, along with short-lived blossom. For wide open vistas of the spring greenery, a wider lens such as the 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 will give you good scope as well as giving you the option to zoom in and crop elements out should you need to.
