Lensbaby Velvet 56 In All Its Ethereal Glory

Lensbaby is embracing the hazy, soft glow of mid-20th century portrait lenses and giving them a modern twist with their Lensbaby Velvet 56mm lens.

Earlier this month, Lensbaby introduced a lens which they say gives a modern twist to a timeless classic, giving photographers the opportunity to capture images that 'evokes the ethereal look and build of a classic portrait lens'. 

The lens they're gushing about is the Lensbaby Velvet 56 with its bright aperture, macro ability and creative effects that make it a rather unique package wrapped up in either a traditional black outer casing or an eye-catching special silver edition. 

We recently put the Lensbaby Velvet 56 to the test and you can see some of the images we captured with the lens, alongside a short film captured by Lensbaby showcasing images taken with this new 56mm f/1.6 manual portrait lens below.
