LG V30 Smartphone Will Feature f/1.6 Lens: LG V30 lens capabilities

LG are officially launching the V30, their new flagship smartphone, at IFA in Berlin later this month but they have today released a snippet of information that will be very interesting to photographers that use camera phones.

The LG V30 will feature an f/1.6 aperture (the first smartphone to do so) and glass lens in the dual camera. LG say the new wider aperture will offer 25% more light to the sensor compared to an f/1.8 lens.

LG use Crystal Clear lens technology which they say delivers greater light collecting ability than plastic lenses and offers better colour reproduction.

Compared to the previous model, the V20, LG say edge distortion has been cut by a third even though the camera module is actually 30% smaller in size compared to the one in the V20.

Last year LG announced the G5, along with a 360 camera and rolling bot.
