12 light painting photographers have officially set a Guinness World Record with a photograph.

There's a Guinness World Record for quite a few interesting, sometimes odd, activities and this list includes the popular photographic pastime of light painting. Up until recently, photographer Andrew Wells held the Guinness World Record for the most light orbs photographed in one single long-exposure with a grand total of 100 light orbs appearing in his shot. However, a group of light painting fans recently broke this record, taking the total number of light orbs featured in a long-exposure shot to 200.
The image was captured during the summer of 2014 in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the USA using 'collaboratively designed light tools' and glow in the dark tape. However, it wasn't until February 2015 that the photo was crowned a record breaker.
One of the photographers who took part in the Guinness World Record attempt, Jason Rinehart, said to ePHOTOzine: " I couldn't be more proud of this accomplishment and having such an opportunity to meet some pretty amazing people that were involved with this project."
Below you can see some of the behind-the-scenes images as well as a video the team captured. To learn more about the project, visit the 200 Orbs website.
