A long exposure image of a train passing through a stunning Canadian landscape and creating a trail of bright colours across the frame has been awarded the Photo of the Week accolade this week.

The image, taken by ePz member edrhodes is titled 'Canadian Pacific' and here's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade:

This is a beautiful capture that really shows off the stunning landscape whilst also offering a unique element - a train passing through at high speed and leaving a bright streak of colour through the image.

The train's colours lead the eye through the image, and we love the fact that you can still see the snow-covered pines behind the railway. The image has been composed excellently - there's good foreground detail with the deep snow and saplings, and the train doesn't take away anything from the magnificent mountain in the foreground.

Photo of the Week winners currently receive a 64GB MicroSD card with SD adapter from Samsung. See all the images that have been awarded the accolade in the POTW gallery.
