The Lowepro Nova Sport 7L AW is a weather resistant camera bag designed for those who do a lot of outdoor adventuring with their camera. It features a removable camera compartment, and is available for around £49. It is available in pepper red, or slate grey. We took a look at the pepper red version, which is actually more of a burnt orange colour. 

Lowepro Nova Sport 7L AW Features

The Lowepro Nova Sport 7L AW is the smallest bag in the range, with the 17L and 35L as its bigger brothers and sisters. The 7L AW will hold a DSLR or mirrorless camera with attached lens (up to 18-105mm), and another lens or flash unit in the removable padded camera compartment. This can be removed and features a draw string cover which will protect your equipment from dust and dirt when not in the bag. 



Also in the main compartment there is space for a 7 inch tablet. There are two elasticated mesh pockets on either side of the bag, and on the front there is a small zipped compartment. Underneath the flap there is a velcro expandable pocket which can be used for your smartphone or other personal accessories. On the back there is a built in all weather cover which completely covers the bag, useful if you get caught in the rain.

The bag also features a removable top carry handle and removable and adjustable shoulder strap.

Lowepro Nova Sport 7L AW Handling & Performance 

The 7L AW has a large, padded and grippy shoulder strap, so even if you're wearing the bag over one shoulder, it stays in place well. The carry handle is also comfy to use and is really handy for moving the bag around for short distances. 

It's really easy to access your equipment; simply unclip the flap and lift the camera out. We managed to fit a Pentax K-50 with attached macro 35mm lens and additional 18-55mm kit lens in the bag with no problems. If you have a DSLR that's any bigger than the K-50 you might find things a little too snug. 



If you want to use the bag for things other than camera equipment, you can pull the padded camera compartment out and stow it somewhere. Once this is removed, the bag feels a little flimsy as the outer material isn't that thick, but this shouldn't be an issue once you fill the bag with your own things. 

The built in all weather cover pulls out of a slot at the bottom of the back of the bag, and can be quickly fitted. It is attached by a fabric strip, which means it can't be accidentally dropped. It also fastens back onto itself with velcro when fitted, making sure your equipment is properly shielded from adverse weather.

For what you get, this bag represents good value, as it is already weather resistant, comes with an all weather cover and features a removable padded compartment, making it really versatile. It is well made, and the large padded strap makes it really comfortable to wear.

The Lowepro Nova Sport 7L AW is available from Wex Photographic for £49 at the time of writing. Bags of a similar size include the Vanguard 2GO 22GR, which is available for £44.99, but doesn't have a removable padded camera compartment. If you want something a little bigger, the Manfrotto Stile Bella V will hold a DSLR and 2-3 additional lenses for £39.95, but doesn't feature a built in weather cover.

Overall, the Lowepro Nova Sport 7L AW will be a great choice for the photographer who likes to go on adventurous pursuits with minimal kit. the shoulder strap is fully adjustable and the large padded section with grip makes it really comfy to wear. 

It's really easy to access your gear, and with colour choices of pepper red, shown here, or a more subdued slate grey, it's ideal for both those who want a highly visible gear bag or for those who want to be a little more inconspicuous. 

	The Lowepro Nova Sport 7L AW is a well designed and versatile bag for the sporty photographer who wants to travel light.
