A prototype of the Lumenator bar.
LA LED are launching a new portable photography LED light.
Called the Lumenator, the light is a portable alternative to studio lighting, and is expandable, modular, dimmable and colour selectable.
The Lumenator gives the photographer a portable and versatile lighting system that can be packed away into a bag, and can run off rechargeable batteries, or be plugged into the wall or a car.
There are three different light bars that can be attached to the Lumenator kit:
The Tru Bar, a daylight balanced bar that is included as standard and gives out 1200 lumens.
The Tailor Bar, which enables you to adjust the white balance with a kelvin selector.
The Hue bar, which is an RGB module that allows you to change colours with an onboard controller.
Any of these light bars can be added to the Lumenator itself, and attached to the ends of other light bars to enable you to create custom lighting for virtually any situation.
A basic Lumenator Kit is set to retail at around $299. It should be available to buy later in 2013.
