Macphun Intensify Pro Performance:

Intensify ProMacphun Intensify Pro is designed to help you bring out detail in your images with the aid of several tools, powered by algorithms.

As with Macphun's Focus 2 app, Intensify is available in two versions: Pro and Standard. The Pro version can be used as a standalone product or as a plug-in for various popular pieces of editing software. You'll also get extra tools (Dehalo, Softness feature, Luminosity, Place Centre controls, Tonal Range clipping and Pixel Saturation) as well as PSD open and export options.

When you open the app up, a screen greets you with an option for dragging and dropping an image from a chosen location or you can click the 'Load Photo' button.

Once loaded, you are presented with the app's interface. To the right of the screen is a column featuring the various image presets you can use to edit your shots without having to adjust several options manually. Click the 'Adjust' button and the preset list is switched to show manual editing options. To the top of this column is the Layers options where you can combine multiple edits on separate layers, all of which can be adjusted individually. Although, only 5 layers at a time can be applied. At the top of the window are options for opening files, saving images and printing photos. Plus the zoom / view options can also be found here along with the 'before and after' preview buttons and undo / redo.  To the right of these options are tools used for editing your images such as the Paintbrush and Eraser. There are also masking options available which make it easy for you to see where adjustments will be applied to on a particular layer.

If you do choose to use the tools listed under the 'Adjust' tab, the sliders are easy to adjust and thanks to how quickly the preview responds to changes, you're not waiting around to see how the adjustments change the overall look of the image. You can also create and save adjustments as presets that you can favourite so you have quick access to them next time you use the app. For those who want more control over the edits they make, there's a good selection of manual editing options, all of which have individual adjustment sliders.

Intensify Pro

The Intensify Pro app offers a wide variety of editing options that emphasise detail, subtly if needed, in a quick and easy to use manner that's straightforward to understand and can create impressive results. Textures on buildings 'pop' while small adjustments can be made to portraits to subtly enhance tones, colours and shades. We did find some of the presets were a little strong when applied but the strength of the effect can be adjusted and there are so many presets on offer that if you find a particular one really doesn't work, you can try a different one.

Macphun Intensify Pro Value For Money:

The Standard version of the app is available for £13.49 and the Pro version for £34.99. Both are reasonably priced, considering the options they offer and the speed at which edits can be applied. Which you purchase will depend on if you need to use the app as a plug-in with Photoshop and if you'll miss the extra tools on offer in the Pro version.

Macphun Intensify Pro Verdict:

This photo editing app is simple to use, changes made to the image are presented quickly and thanks to the presets, images can be edited without too much effort on your part. It's smart, fast, easy to use and well worth a look if you're looking for a more reasonably priced alternative to other photo editing apps / software on offer from other manufacturers.
