A brilliant shot of Blackpool has we've never seen it before has won our 'Photo of the Week' award this week on ePz.
Titled 'B l u e I n B l a c k p o o l', site member Philpot used a 321-second exposure at f/8, ISO400 with a Lee Filter Little Stopper to capture his amazing shot.
The tide was coming in and the waves crashing up the steps with some force," says Philpot in his image's description. "This image was captured at 21.50 hrs, 10 minutes later they pulled the plug and the big wheel on the Central pier was in darkness."
We love the deep blues in this shot and how the crashing waves reaching up the steps have been turned into a smooth pool of blue with a touch of white. The steps allow your eyes to reach the pier which is bathed in lovely, colourful light and, of course, that amazing spinning big wheel standing proud stands out brilliantly against the darkening sky. The gentle touch of the reflections in the water are great, too.
It's a stunning image and a brilliant example of long exposure photography at its best.
All of our POTW winners receive an EVO Plus 64GB MicroSDXC card with an SD Adapter courtesy of Samsung. To be in with a chance of becoming our next POTW winner, simply upload an image to our gallery where you'll also find all of our past POTW winners.
Plus, going forward, we will also announce a new 'Photo of the Year' winner who'll win a Samsung Portable SSD T7. Each POTW winner, 52 in total, will then have their image shared in a new POTW forum where, in January 2022, we will ask you all to hit the 'like' button on your favourite images. Then, the ePHOTOzine team will count up the likes and our first 'Photo of the Year' winner will be announced.
