Compact Cameras

With the launch of the Dimage X Minolta has more or less created a new genre of digital camera - the lifestyle product. A revolutionary design makes the Dimage X the world's smallest, lightest and thinnest 2-megapixel, 3x optical zoom digital camera.1

Standard-setting stylish compactness
At just 84.5x72x20mm and only 135g in weight with the camera has a 3x optical zoom - only 17.9mm deep and with a high-quality prism to 'fold' the optical path. Placed inside the planar body of the camera, this zoom never needs to be extended and makes the distinctive flat shape possible. The simple but sophisticated design of the camera also adds to its appeal as a lifestyle device.

The Dimage X not only performs well as a digital still camera, it also serves as a versatile multimedia tool with movie and audio functions. Up to 35 seconds of digital video can be recorded with sound, up to 15 seconds of audio attached to a recorded still image.

Effortless operation
The DiMAGE X has the fastest start-up time2 of any camera in its class - only 1.8 seconds. So you never need worry about missing some memorable moment. This unmatched start-up speed is made possible by the powerful RISC CPU and non-extending lens design, which also has the advantage of requiring only a small and remarkably quiet zooming motor.
The striking planar design also brings benefits in handling by maximizing the camera area. Simple, ergonomic controls located around the LCD monitor ensure smooth and clear operation - another advantage that will add to the DiMAGE X's appeal as a 'lifestyle camera'.
