The Mophie Juice Pack Air is a special case for the iPhone (there are versions for the 4/4S and 5) that includes a battery which you can use to charge your iPhone if it is low on power and you're unable to charge via a plug. It is capable of charging up to 100% of your battery. There are different versions offering a higher or lower capacity battery. Mophie Juice Pack Air Handling & Performance

To case splits in two so you can fit your iPhone in, our review model was quite stiff, so a little care is needed. Once your iPhone is in place you can still use it as normal, there are built-in buttons, an opening for the camera, gaps for audio from the speakers and a hole for headphones. You might struggle to fit your headphones into the socket so there is a small audio jack included which fits nicely.



You can charge the Juice Pack Air with or without an iPhone in place. If you do charge it with your phone in both devices will be charged. Charging is via USB so you can plug it into your computer or the plug supplied with your iPhone. On the rear of the Juice Air Pack is an on / off slider, four LED lights and a button. Press this button and the LEDs will light up to indicate how much power is left in its battery.

To test we ran down an iPhone 5 so its battery was empty, connected it to the fully charged Juice Pack and left it to charge the iPhone. When charging completed the iPhone had a very impressive 92% charge.

The Mophie Juice Pack Air is available for £94.95. Alternatives include the PowerSkin PoP’n (2,000mAh battery) at £48.45, Lenmar Meridian (2,300mAh battery) at £66.18 and the iKit Nucharge (1,900mAh battery) at £62.00.

As most iPhone users will know, the battery can struggle to last a whole day, particularly if you're out and about using the camera, Google maps to get around, checking Facebook and email etc. If you've the best part of £100 to spare, the Mophie Juice Pack Air is the solution to your problem. It promises up to a 100% charge of the battery and we managed an impressive 92% - this is excellent if you tend to burn the candle at both ends.
