A camera bag is an accessory a photographer can't really live without but the problem with them is, well, they're just a bit boring aren't they? Why should a camera bag look like a camera bag just because that's how it's been done before? When you start to think about it, it's a very good question and one that new brand Morally Toxic are answering with a stand against the establishment and a big step away from conformity.

Who Are Morally Toxic?

VALKYRIE EMER M 2072 3 | 1/1250 sec | f/3.2 | 200.0 mm | ISO 320

Well, Morally Toxic is a culmination of ideas and innovation from the 3 Legged Thing founder, Danny Lenihan, who has spent the last 5-years developing the brand.

Morally, because they strive to achieve the highest standards while ensuring the working conditions in their partner factories are indicative of their values. Plus, Morally Toxic use cleverly designed tessellating patterns to minimise waste materials and any cut-offs are shredded then recycled. They also use the bare minimum plastic content and where possible, source recycled ocean plastics.

Toxic, because Morally Toxic refuse to bow to the tired, unimaginative, corporate and dull products that have flooded the market for decades. Aesthetically, Morally Toxic challenges convention and embrace diversity. They want to make bags for photographers of all shapes, sizes, ages, genders, colours and cultures while still providing effortless workflow and innovative organisation for professional use.

"This has been a long time coming, and it’s so exciting to launch another brand, eleven years after I brought 3 Legged Thing to the world," said Danny Lenihan, CEO and Founder of Morally Toxic and 3 Legged Thing. "I have much greater aspirations for Toxic, and we’re already working on an entire range of bags for hiking, gym, kit bags, fashion and any number of other bags that you see every day on the high street. I’ve spent five years working on the initial designs, honing and redesigning to optimise everything, from the aesthetics to the workflow, to security and protective innovations."

"We don't make bags that look like briefcases for bankers and lawyers," Morally Toxic.

Introducing Wraith & Valkyrie Camera Bags

Wraith & Valkyrie Camera Bags

The Morally Toxic brand brings together British design, coupled with a fusion of alien and reptilian design concepts that rip up the rule book and make a stand in a market that's saturated with corporate designs. If you want to show off your personality, this is the brand for you with the Wraith and Valkyrie camera bags offering practicality while still challenging the norm.

Both camera bags are constructed from premium fabrics including Morally Toxic's own unique jacquard, which combines a vintage map of the company's home village, Stagsden, with a reptilian print. Due to the woven pattern, and the way the fabric is cut to tesselate, this means each bag will be unique.

"Premium Quality, Flawless Dynamics, Extraordinary Style, Minium Fuss & Maximum Impact," Morally Toxic.

I've had a bad day so this will sound like I'm getting my knickers in a twist over nothing, but there is enough "moral toxicity" around in society without naming a "trendy" bag range after it imho. I get the rationale given above for the name, but we interpret words in combination and not just in isolation. E.g. ass wipe.

Why would one want to carry a small marsupial in a side pocket ?

Curious claim, the backpacks shown worn by the people in the photos look EXACTLY like camera bags with a slightly fancy outer coating.....and I would never EVER buy a bag with the word TOXIC emblazoned on the front.
