Fujifilm Premium Mirrorless

Fujifilm advised that the next version of the Fujifilm X-Pro1, (the companies first compact system camera) is the beginning of a line of cameras*, with the follow up most likely being called the X-Pro2, which will come with a new zoom lens. They said that when developing the first compact system camera, there were strong debates regarding what lenses to provide with the first camera, with a strong call for a zoom lens, however the desire to show the high quality of the system won in the end, and the camera was launched with three high quality prime lenses, the 18mm f/2.0, the 35mm f/1.4 and 60mm f/2.4 macro.

I hope they come out with a zoom, it would make the camera more appealing to those wishing to step up to enthusiasts level or even semi pro but not willing to pay the price of the primes.

Fuji have a great reputation for zooms, so I would expect it will be pretty darn good. My X10 zoom is superb.

Its the prices, of these new models and lenses that I would like to know.

According to leaked road-map during the launch of this camera, Fuji indeed is planning to introduce zoom lenses for this system. What I liked the most about this system is that Fuji hasn't fallen into trap that other mirror-less camera manufacturers did.

Absolutely, Fuji has taken a new direction that to me is going to be a winner. They are not obliged to compete with the 4thirds lot and nor the other mirror-less systems without EVF.

My X10 is a joy to use and if that is anything to go by, then we are in for a treat. I just wonder if there will be a budget version?

Bring it on! This and the OM-D both appeal strongly for different reasons. Can't remember a time when 2 models came out around same time that really grabbed my attention. Happy times
X-Pro 1 is very good indeed, more lenses of the same calibre would be excellent, you add lenses to a camera and then the makers discontinue or replace the camera and you're left with egg on your face.

Let's hope Fuji take a long term view on this camera and it's lens system, for me it's excellent and may make a difference big time to my camera bag.
