Micro Four Thirds fan David Thorpe has been reflecting on 2020 which even with all of its challenges was still a good year for those who use the MFT system.

The year 2020 won't be one most of us will remember with much joy but if you are a Micro Four Thirds (MFT) fan, the year Covid-19 hit did have a little bit of joy as three new cameras arrived from Olympus along with quite a few interesting lenses from other brands.
To sum the year up, David Thorpe has put the above video together which summaries his MFT experience, reviewing what was good about it and he also looks to the future to see what 2021 may bring.
Here's a list of the cameras/lenses David reviewed last year:
- Canon M50 with kit zoom
- Olympus 12-50mm f/3.5-f/6.3 Zoom Lens
- Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III
- Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III
- Meike 3.5mm f/2.8 Circular Fisheye
- Laowa 50mm f/2.8 2:1 Macro Lens
- Mitakon Speedmaster 17mm f/0.95
- Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV
The cameras might have been updates to previous models but the lenses David purchased are quirky pieces of kit that offer interesting specs at affordable prices.
"Three new Olympus cameras and some exotic lenses defied the zeitgest to bring some joy to me and I hope many others," David Thorpe.
David goes into detail about the new kit he purchased, explaining what he likes about each camera or lens before looking to 2021 where he hopes things continue as they are for the MFT world because, as David says, there's a good range of cameras and lenses currently on offer. He also suggests we all take the time to fully explore the kit we currently own, too, as he doubts we've used it to its full ability and lockdown gives us the perfect excuse to do this so why not take the opportunity while it's available?
There's plenty more discussed in David's video so do take the time to sit down and have a watch and please do share your own thoughts on the MFT system in the comments section below. You can also watch David's previous year review here.
