18-year-old Sally Bornbusch has won the fourth annual Nature's Best Photography Students contest, sponsored by Sigma. Sally's winning picture captured the reflections of two sandhill cranes in a body of water at New Mexico's Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.
Sigma Corporation of America are pleased to announce the winner of the fourth annual, Sigma-sponsored Nature’s Best Photography Students photography contest.
Sally Bornbusch, an 18-year-old college freshman studying biology and fine arts, is the grand prize winner of the student magazine’s most recent photo contest. Her winning image captured the reflections of two sandhill cranes in a body of water at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. Bornbusch’s winning photo and description, and the images submitted by other contest runners-up, can be viewed on the Nature's Best Students
“We received hundreds of outstanding photographs from young adults from all over the world, so this is always a difficult decision, but Sally’s image struck our judges as both highly artistic and exceptionally composed,
” said Gabby Salazar, editor of the publication.
Sigma Corporation of America sponsors Nature’s Best Photography Students’ twice-yearly photography contests by donating a Sigma lens of the winner’s choice valued at $650. This endeavor, like the Sigma Corporation of America Scholarship that was recently announced for high school seniors, is part of company’s mission to support young photographers.

Submissions for the next Nature’s Best Photography Students photo contest will be accepted through March 1st; Sigma’s scholarship contest submissions are being accepted until February 15th. Students can submit images for the photo contest online via the Nature's Best Students
