New NIKKOR Z Lens Roadmap To 2021, Including Future Lenses Yet To Be Announced

Along with the official release of the Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens, Nikon has released a lens road map to show consumers what they can expect to see from the brand.

Nikkor Z lens line-up roadmap

Nikon has shared a lens road map which shows lenses from the Nikkor Z lens line-up which are yet to be announced alongside some of the lenses we already know about. 

The roadmap is split into Prime, Compact Prime, Micro and Zoom lenses with the now officially announced Nikon Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct listed under the Prime lenses. 

Here's the full rundown of what lenses are on the road map:

Prime Lenses Announced:

  • 24mm f/1.8
  • 35mm f/1.8
  • 50mm f/1.8
  • 85mm f/1.8
  • 58mm f/0.95

Prime Lenses To Be Announced: 

  • 20mm f/1.8
  • 50mm f.1/2 

Compact Prime Lenses To Be Announced:

  • 28mm & 40mm 

Micro Lenses To Be Announced: 

  • Micro 60mm and Micro 105mm 

Zoom Lenses Announced:

  • 24-70 f/2.8
  • 14-30mm f/4
  • 24-70mm f/4 
  • DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 (24-75mm equivalent)
  • DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 (75-375mm equivalent)

Zoom Lenses To Be Announced: 

  • 14-24mm f/2.8
  • 70-200mm f/2.8
  • 24-105mm
  • 100-400mm
  • DX 18-140mm (27-210mm equivalent)
  • 24-200mm
  • 200-600mm 

There's also a roadmap for the Nikon Z Series Lens line-up, introduced in 2018, and Nikon has also released the Nikon Z 50 DX-format mirrorless camera today.

Growing nicely as a range. Quality DX can largely be covered by FF lenses, but that canít happen with DX wideangle zoom. Opportunity here for Tokina to make a Z mount (and for others too) version of their classic 11-20/2.8.
