Nikon's new S series compacts include two high zoom options and two models with built-in wireless image transfer for instant image uploading to a compatible smart device. All models also feature a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor, lens-shift vibration reduction and Full HD (1080p) movie recording.
Nikon Coolpix S9500
The Wi-Fi enabled Coolpix S9500 features a Nikkor 22x optical zoom lens and ED glass, plus the high contrast 7.5-cm (3.0-in.) OLED screen makes it easy to frame your shot. It also has built-in GPS which allows you to ‘geotag’ photos at any time, or retrace your route via a computer, whilst an electronic compass tells you in exactly which direction the camera is pointing.
The Coolpix S9500 comes in four colours: silver, black, red and brown. The camera has an RRP of £299.99 and will be available from 21 February 2013.
Nikon Coolpix S5200
The pocket-size, 16-megapixel Coolpix S5200 features built-in Wi-Fi, a high-resolution, 7.5 cm (3.0-in.) LCD screen, 16-megapixel CMOS sensor and a Nikkor 6x optical zoom with lens-shift vibration reduction. The S5200 can switch to Full HD video recording instantly at the touch of a dedicated button.
The Coolpix S5200 comes in five colours: silver, black, red, blue and plum. The camera has an RRP of £179.99 and will be available from 21 February 2013.
Nikon Coolpix S9400
The Coolpix S9400 boasts an 18x Nikkor lens, a 7.5-cm (3.0-in.) OLED screen, optical lens-shift vibration reduction and full HD movie recording. The S9400 can be paused and then continue during filming, and create one single movie file at the end, for smooth playback. The optical zoom with autofocus can be used when filming and you can record in iFrame format. To view movies on a bigger screen, simply connect the camera directly to an HDTV using the built-in HDMI connector.
The COOLPIX S9400 comes in four colours: silver, black, red and white. The camera has an RRP of £249.99 and will be available from 21 February 2013.
