Nikon's hints on what the new Mirrorless Full-Frame Camera will be like are coming thick and fast...
| Mirrorless Cameras
So, we know there's a new Nikon full-frame mirrorless camera that will arrive on 23 August and that, among other things, it will sport a new lens mount and it's this new mount Nikon are now, sort of, telling the World about.
We say 'sort of' because, as with every other video and image released by Nikon about the new camera so far, it's a bit cryptic.
In the video, a rapid sequence of Nikon cameras is rotated through, with a focus on the mounts, and the sequence ends with another shady shot of the new full-frame mirrorless camera.
The words: "We are preparing for the next 100 years by leaping into a new dimension" and "This new mount is Nikon's response to the challenges of the future" also appear in the short video along with a video description of: "Ever since the Nikon F film camera, generations of Nikon cameras have been built around the F mount. Building on that technology and DNA, we're now aiming for new heights."
We'll leave you to discuss Nikon's words in the comments below and bring you more cryptic teaser news as it's published.

Bringing the lens closes to the sensor means light striking at a tighter angle so either curved sensors or micro lenses on each pixel will come to sensors in time - as will in body stabilisation.
Global shutter is still to land on major sensors.
With software ever more dominant in the offerings you might end up with a Sony/Nikon/Canon app store for in camera editing and uploading of vids/photos straight to social media accounts.
This camera is clearly the first in a new series and its exciting to see what the new platform intends to offer going forward.
Please Nikon share a road map of why this new ILC camera system is worth investing in. Or if its way to expensive how we can rent lens/body combo's for specific tasks.
