Nikon has updated its list of recommended lenses for the Nikon D800E camera.

When the D800/E was announced last year Nikon released a technical guide, which included a list of recommended lenses for the camera.

Since then quite a few more lenses have been released, and the list has now been updated to include these.

Nikon claims the following lenses all offer 'excellent resolution' for the D800E:

I was going to ask the same question. Odd that 50mm focal length lenses are left off considering their optical quality.

    No micro nikkor 200 mm?
    Why? It is perfect!
I'm also surprised that the 24-70 is on the list, far less than perfect! It is a very Castile lens but certainly not tack sharp from 24-28!
Also, I have just tested it with my old 500 and 600mmm MF lenses.
Surprise surprise , the 600mm was the clear winner. See my moon shot.
