Yahoo Japan has published an article which features quotes from Nikon executives and outlines the company's future plans.

As the feature is written in Japanese, we've used Google translate to switch the wording into English and quite a few interesting points are covered in the text.

What's clear is there are some rather big changes taking place and that Nikon is taking an 'aggressive approach' to rebuilding their camera business. There are no plans to close domestic or overseas factories at this time and even though the DL range was discontinued, there are new product announcements around the corner and this includes more mirrorless cameras (something we've not seen since the release of the J5 back in 2015).

As well as mirrorless cameras, Nikon will be turning their attention to mid- to high-end SLRs and lenses and at some point, they also want to re-look at developing high-end compact cameras.
