A nuthatch eyeing the camera from a perch has been awarded the Photo of the Week accolade.
The POTW awarded image is chosen by the team here at ePHOTOzine, and here's why we thought this image, entitled 'Nuthatch' by ePz member maroondah, deserved to win the accolade:
This is a great capture of a very fast-moving bird, captured at just the right time so that the bird is looking side-on at the lens. The positioning of the bird in the frame and the detail of the moss on the perch work well to make this an image that's pleasing to the eye. The non-descript yet natural-looking background works well to keep the attention on the bird, which has lovely petrol blue and faun tones.
