A series of free events, designed to showcase the Olympus line-up, including the flagship OM-D E-M1 and the range of Micro Four Thirds & Four Thirds lenses, will be taking place in London from Saturday 2 November 2013.

The events, which run until 9 November 2013 and are a follow up to the previous pop-up events which took place at the Loading Bay Gallery, will include workshops with Olympus professional photographers, plus a series of talks, debates and interviews.

Members of the Olympus team will also be on-hand throughout the events, which take place at the Icetank, showcasing the OM-D E-M1, Olympus ZUIKO lenses and accessories. Plus, the events will give visitors the chance to get hands-on with the brand-new Stylus 1 announced today.

Here's a few of the excellent events coming up to whet your appetite:

Tuesday 5 November 11:00 - 16:00: 'Light, Shapes & Space'
This workshop with photographer R. Cleveland Aaron aims to help you develop what you already know and introduce you to a few things you may not.

Working in a controlled environment attendees will be examining different qualities and effects of light on a subject and ways of composing using negative space (also referred to as rule of space). The OMD E-M1's in-built filters will be used to customise the way images are presented and  the importance of communicating with your subject will be discussed.

Wednesday 6 November 19:00 - 21:00: Pechakucha Night with Olympus Professional Photographers
A lively and stimulating presentation evening, by eight Olympus Photographers using the format of PechaKucha 20x20. Each photographer will show 20 images, and they have 20 seconds to speak about each slide! This format creates a fun, concise and fast paced presentation.

Presenting photographers include: Jeremy Hunter, Damian McGillicuddy, Jill Furmanovsky, Nicholas Goodden, Nick Danziger and Dafydd Jones

Thursday 7, Friday 8 & Saturday 9 November 10:00 - 12:30 & 14:00 - 16:30 : 'Look what's cooking in the kitchen!'
Come along and assist Damian McGillicuddy while he shoots LA based model Ulorin Vex on a real commercial shoot. See how it all comes together from concept to creation; styling, props and lighting through to posing and direction. An amazing opportunity to learn from the Master.

Friday 8 November 2013 19:00 - 21:00: The Big Interview. Barry Lategan: The Fashion Images
Fashion, design, music and, of course, photography are always looking to the past for inspiration. Some photographers are repeatedly referenced, others not so often. Barry Lategan is one of those whose time seems to be now. His work looks as fresh and contemporary today as it did when he created it more than 30 years ago.

Lategan’s use of stillness, muted colours, sophisticated make-up and carefully considered creative concepts made his work for Vogue UK and Italy instantly recognizable as being his. They are images, which are revered by the international fashionista’s and imitated by today’s fashion photographers. In this intimate conversation with Grant Scott, previously the art director of both Tatler and Elle magazines and the founder of www.unitednationsofphotography.com. Lategan will discuss his inspirations for these images, his process in creating them, the models he worked with and his experiences working within the fashion and magazine industry during its ‘Golden Age’ of creativity and experimentation.

Tickets for all the activities are free, but to attend visitors must register through the individual event they wish to attend via the Olympus website.
