Must Have Olympus Kit For Spring Photography: Bleeding Heart

Spring provides a great opportunity to get out and photograph all the new shoots, animals and buds that will be around. Here, we round up some accessories that will be ideal for different aspects of spring photography.

Macro Lens - A macro lens such as the M.Zuiko digital ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro will be ideal for shooting fresh buds, leaves and insects such as bumble bees that will start appearing at this time of year. the 60mm lens is a high precision macro lens, allowing you to get only the part of the image you want in focus and attractively blur out the rest of the image.

Allround Zoom - A lens such as the M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-150mm f/4.0-5.6 will enable you to capture the wider view of spring, from lush green landscapes to baby lambs frolicking in the fields. If your subject is far away, then the reach of this lens will enable you to get that bit closer to it. This is an ideal lens for those times when you want to travel light, taking just one lens able to capture a wide variety of shots.

Macro Arm Light - The Olympus MAL-1 Macro Arm Light is ideal for use when you're shooting small spring subjects indoors, such as freshly cut spring flowers. The device enables you to shed light onto your subject in 2 different directions, so it's perfect for shooting small, delicate flowers where direction and intensity of light will be key to getting a great looking image.

OM-D E-M1 Power Battery Holder - If you use an OM-D E-M1, then the HLD-7 power battery holder can give you extended battery power, and better grip, if you're planning on going on a long photo walk and don't want to risk running out of battery. It's dust, splash and freeze proof too, like the E-M1.

There are several Olympus workshops coming up in May that will cover spring photography with an Olympus camera - if you'd like to learn more, head over to the Olympus events page
