David Thorpe compares the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II with the Panasonic Lumix GH5, both 20 megapixel Micro Four Thirds cameras, with top of the range features, including high-speed shooting and 4K video recording. David Thorpe discusses feel, design, handling and the control systems of both cameras, along with how to get to the Super Control Panels, and custom modes. David also talks about screen quality, as well as electronic viewfinder (EVF) performance of both cameras.

Battery life can be extended on both cameras with the power saving features, and David says he can get up to 1000 shots on a charge. He also discusses action shots, and continuous shooting with auto-focus, with the advantage going to the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II due to the quicker continuous shooting modes. The E-M1 Mark II also offers a high-resolution shooting mode, which has been introduced in the new Panasonic Lumix G9.
