The first high-performance telemacro lens in the M.Zuiko PRO series will be released in 2023 OM Digital Solutions has confirmed.
| Interchangeable Lenses
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 90mm f/3.5 Macro IS PRO is a new lens which OM Digital Solutions says is ideal for macro nature photography that will be available at some point next year (2023).
Compatible with the MFT system, which features the OM-1, the 90mm f/3.5 Macro IS PRO offers a 35mm equivalent focal length of 180mm as well as 4x maximum image magnification. In-lens image stabilisation is built in and the lens is also dust- and splashproof (IP53).
By adding this lens to the lineup, there are now three lenses with close-up shooting capabilities boasting a maximum image magnification of 2x or more at focal lengths of 60mm (read our review: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens), 120mm, and 180mm. This brings the lineup to 11 lenses capable of half-macro shooting at a maximum image magnification of 0.5x or more.
No pricing information has been released but the M.Zuiko Digital Lens Roadmap has been updated to feature the new lens which you can see above. Two telephoto zooms also get a mention but there's no information on when these will be available.
This product is in development and the specifications are subject to change.
