OnePlus, one of the fastest growing premium smartphone brands across the world, has today unveiled the OnePlus 6T smartphone.
The OnePlus 6T expands on the OnePlus 6 (of which sold 1 million units in just over 3 weeks) and offers a dual 16MP+20MP camera, 6.41-inch display, 3700mAh battery, 128GB storage (no memory card slot), 8GB RAM, and Snapdragon 845 platform.
Like the Huawei Mate20 Pro, the new OnePlus 6T has a fingerprint sensor built into the screen - removing the need for a home button and a fingerprint sensor on the back. As for the screen itself, it has a 2340x1080 resolution and as mentioned, measures 6.41-inch (slightly bigger than the Huawei Mate20 Pro and much bigger than the Apple iPhone XS).
The overall shape of the OnePlus 6T is familiar with its rounded corners but it's much thinner and lighter than you might expect. Plus, the chin has been reduced on the OnePlus 6T and the top notch is tiny in comparison to other premium smartphones on the market.
The dual rear camera set-up is as follows - 16MP+20MP, f/1.7 aperture, OIS/EIS, 480fps slow-mo video, 4K@60fps and scene recognition is built in along with a Nightscape mode to allow for better night/low light photography without having to switch to Pro Mode.
To improve low light performance, an HDR algorithm has been introduced and this should allow users to capture low light images in 2-seconds, reducing the chances of shake spoiling your shots. There's a really great low light mode built into the budget-friendly Honor 8X so it'll be interesting to see how the mode works in the more premium OnePlus 6T.
Another new mode found in the OnePlus 6T is Studio Lighting Mode which when the smartphone detects a face on-camera, it will tweak the lighting to improve the portraits.
Water and dust resistance has also been improved but don't take the OnePlus 6T for a swim as it won't like it.
The OnePlus 6T will be available in Mirror Black and Mirror Black, from 6 November with prices starting at £499. But, those who own the OnePlus 6 can test out the Nightscape mode very soon as it will be introduced to the device next week.
