OPPO has shared photos of a smartphone without borders, so the screen goes over the edges, on Twitter but fans aren't impressed with its thick bezels and overall design.
OPPO calls the prototype a 'borderless smartphone' with 'waterfall screen' technology (we're guessing this is because the screen falls over the edges) but the thick black band surrounding the smartphone isn't something OPPO fans are best pleased with.

Comments such as 'how about no?', 'no one asked for this' and 'ugly' are just a few of the reactions over on Twitter and we have to agree that the curved screen is a bit old-fashioned (and dare we say, weird?). Plus, an edgeless design that has a bezel doesn't really make much sense but the device is only a prototype so perhaps this is something that will be fixed if/when the smartphone is released.

As well as an 'edgeless' smartphone, OPPO has shared images of a folding smartphone so they can keep up with the likes of Samsung and Huawei. In fact, Samsung says the Galaxy Fold will be available from September 2019.
