OpTech Rainsleeve Performance

The Rainsleeve is easy to attach, I set my camera up on the tripod and slid the cover over, this can be done quickly to avoid rain getting on your camera. Once in place you just need to tighten the drawstring around the end of your lens and fix the opening around your viewfinder. Using a Nikon D3000 this involved removing the rubber eyepiece and placing the viewfinder through the hole and replacing the eyepiece.

Once in place you can operate the camera either from outside the Rainsleeve or by putting your hands through the opening at the bottom. The LCD screen was easily visible enough to toggle through my camera settings. The Rainsleeves are made of thin plastic which is likely to be easily nicked on anything sharp, so it's unlikely it will last forever, but you do get two in a pack.

OpTech Rainsleeve Verdict

The OpTech is a cheap and ideal solution to keeping your camera dry when out shooting. An essential item for your camera kit bag.

One of these rainsleeves takes up such a small amount of room in your camera bag...
...or even your pocket...It'd be daft NOT to carry one.
