Panasonic has announced the launch of a 60x zoom bridge camera and a new compact, the XS3.
| Panasonic Lumix FZ72 (FZ70) in Compact Cameras
The Panasonic FZ72 packs the world's longest zoom on a bridge camera, which at 60x offers an equivalent range of 20-1200mm. The 20mm ultra wide angle lens is composed of 14 emements in 12 groups.
The zoom can also be extended to a 102x equivalent whilst maintaining picture quality thanks to Intelligent Resolution Technology. A 1.7x tele conversion lens will also be available seperataly to boost the zoom to 102x.

The camera features a 16.1 megapixel MOS sensor, light speed AF and Power OIS, as well as HD video recording, full manual control and a hotshoe. It is capable of shooting 9fps at full resolution, and 5fps with continous AF.

The Panasonic Lumix XS3 compact features a 14.1 megapiel MOS sensor, and is just 14mm thick. It has an f/2.8 Lumix DC Vario 24mm wide angle lens with 5x optical zoom. It also has full HD video recording. It will be available in red, black and brown.
The FZ72 60x optical zoom camera should be available from August 2013, while the XS3 will be available from September. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
