Panasonic Leica 12 60mm (6)

We recently has a chance to have a look at the new premium Leica 12-60mm f/2.8-4.0 Micro Four Thirds lens, which is equivalent to 24-120mm in 35mm terms. The lens will be available as part of a kit with the new Panasonic Lumix GH5, and focus was quick and snappy when we were using the lens. The lens has a solid metal construction, with physical switches on the side of the lens, and an extending lens barrel.

Key Features

  • 5x optical zoom, 24-120mm equivalent
  • Fast, accurate focusing and silent operation
  • Spash, dust, freezeproof
  • 240fps AF linear motor
  • 5-axis dual IS 2 compatible
  • 4 ASPH, 2 ED elements
  • Power Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS)

Panasonic also showed two other Leica branded lenses, at Photokina 2016, and these lenses are:

  • 8-18mm f/2.8-4.0, equivalent to 16-36mm (Under development)
  • 50-200mm f/2.8-4.0 (TBD), equivalent to 100 to 300mm. (Under study)

I like the the 12-60mm and for travel my Oly lens went through a few airports together. The other partner was the sister 50-200mm. So I'm wondering what that new 12-60 is going to run...

Hi BostonC - it's not internal, one of the pictures of the lens, shows the lens extended, thanks Josh

Almost. Except price and weight. Maybe I'll buy it. Constant F4 would be lighter and cheaper!
