The Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 50-200mm f/2.8-4.0 ASPH lens completes the line up of Panasonic's top-quality, high performance zooms and according to David Thorpe, it oozes quality but has a price tag to match. However, pleasingly for Micro Four Thirds shooters, this lens and its 2 siblings - the 12-60 and 9-18mm - are different enough from their Olympus competitors to provide a real alternative but does its performance justify the price?

In a nutshell, David believes, as does ePz, that the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 50-200mm f/2.8-4 is a 'compact and efficient telephoto zoom that delivers excellent quality'. We awarded it our top 'Editor's Choice' accolade and David also praises its performance, too.

According to David, the lens feels expensive, which isn't a bad thing, as it means it feels weighty, well-built and has a glossy, tactile finish. The lens has excellent stabilisation built-in and focusing is as fast as you would expect, almost instantaneous on single AF. Image sharpness is brilliant and the lens offers all of the bells and whistles you'd expect to find on a lens priced at this level.

David goes on to explore the lens in much more detail in the short but informative video review so do hit play and please also remember to take a look at David's YouTube channel where you'll find plenty of other informative reviews.
