Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4.0 ASPH. in Interchangeable Lenses

Lens and camera reviewer, David Thorpe, has put the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4 ASPH lens to the test and as David has kept the 8-18mm in his kit bag, removing the Panasonic 7-14mm lens as a result, it's clear to see that he thinks that the lens is well worth considering.

Overall, David is in agreement with our lens reviewer John Riley in that the Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 8-18mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. is a beautifully made zoom lens that offers outstanding sharpness. David also believes that you can quite easily see/use the 8-18mm as two lenses: a super-wide 8-14mm and a general purpose 15-18mm.

To hear more on what David thinks of the 8-18mm lens, click 'play' on the video above. You can also find ePHOTOzine's full opinion on the wide-angle zoom in our review

The test pictures colours are very much like Olympus Jpeg colours which is no bad thing in my view, good bit of kit and a cracking zoom

I have both the Olympus E-M1 Mkll and GH5 and the JPG output is very similar, as you say.
