The result – in the words of image professionals

"I’ve worn the Halcon Traveller as my main jacket for around 14 months and it is unquestionably the most used, and useful, jacket I have ever owned as a photographer/photojournalist/travel writer and wildlife photographer.

I’ve worn it for trips in all seasons all over Europe (Austria, Croatia, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Montenegro, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, UK) photographing carnivals and festivals, national parks (including wildlife), cities, landscapes, street photography. It’s fine in the summer with a light shirt under, when it’s colder I layer it with a Torres Gilet under which makes a perfect combo. I’ve worn it in snow/rain/wind, and it’s quick to dry out afterwards. It’s the ultimate overland travel jacket, I wish it had been around when I did long overland trips through Turkey/Iran/Central Asia many years ago!

The pockets are great - the hip pockets hold a DSLR body firmly (very useful at airport security when your camera bag is a bit overweight!); the secret outer/inner chest pockets are perfect for travel documents, press cards, maps etc; the main outer chest pockets perfect for notebook etc, with batteries/card wallet/wallet/an extra lens/flash etc all fitting in as required; mesh inners useful too.

Overall, the Halcon Traveller is a near-perfect combination of function and style. It’s really nice to have a feature-rich jacket, so well thought-out for a photographer, to wear for almost any travel, that’s also smart and stylish enough to wear around town or when you need to interview someone."

"The jacket is exactly the sort of thing I have wanted for years - light but warm, wind and showerproof, comfortable and stylish - and packs to almost nothing in a rucksack! Perfect for a day in the tropics where it can be chilly early and late in the day, or there may be a sudden shower."

Stephen Moss, naturalist, author & TV Producer

"As a photographer working in the Balkans I’ve gone through a number of multi-pocket waistcoats but at last I have found one that’s perfect - your Halcon Waistcoat. It’s lightweight for the heat (most cotton waistcoats are too heavy). The zipped chest pockets x 4 are great for security. The bellow pockets are the right size. Feels great to wear. Dries very quickly. Looks smart! Very well done, Páramo!"

Adrian Sandry, Godalming

"Reporting on adventure racing around the world takes me to some amazing places, often with extreme climates. But for the 2016 Adventure Racing World Championship, I was in New South Wales in Australia and had to endure bright sunshine, surf-washed white sand beaches and sub-tropical forests!

So this time I didn’t need to be warm and rainproofed, I needed to be comfortable in the heat and protected from the sun. And I was. It got cooler at times and the Halcon Traveller came out of my pack. The big pockets were great for stuffing lenses, notebooks and water bottles into. I can see me using this as a regular jacket for photography shoots in a much wider range of temperatures than experienced in Australia."

"I took the jacket on my shoot in Belize. It’s a great piece to wear when you're being attacked by lots of biting insects! The bugs were biting through my baselayer so I needed something on top and was surprised not to feel overly hot considering how humid the weather was.

The jacket styling is great and I received a number of compliments wearing it. A great jacket for travelling in, light enough to just chuck in a bag and enough cover to warm up on cooler nights in warmer places."

Sue Gibson, long lens wildlife & sync camera operator
