A beautiful image of one of the Lake District's most iconic scenes has been awarded the Photo of the Week accolade this week.
The image, named 'Derwentwater Gate' by ePz member Mike43 was chosen by the team here at ePHOTOzine and here's why we thought it deserved to win:
This is an often photographed view, but this particular capture holds something special. It immediately caught our eye due to the well thought out composition, serene stillness of the lake and texture and shape of the clouds.
The composition has been used effectively to guide your eye along the fence, to the gate and out into the water, allowing you to take in the mountainous landscape beyond.
The trees are just starting to turn, giving the image a warm autumnal feel. The colours of the image are vibrant yet subtle - a rare quality that really makes the image pop. A fantastic landscape capture.
Photo of the Week winners currently receive a 32GB MicroSDHC card with SD adapter courtesy of Samsung. See all the images that have been awarded the accolade in the POTW gallery.
