Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L 

The Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L is the smallest and lightest bag in their Everyday lineup. It's available in 3L, 6L and 10L sizes, and in black, grey or midnight blue. Here we're looking at the 10L black version. It can fit a large DSLR with 70-200mm lens attached, or a smaller camera with lens attached and 1 or 2 additional lenses or accessories. 

Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L Features

The Everyday Sling 10L has a zipped padded compartment on the front and a large main compartment containing a laptop/tablet compartment which can hold a 13-inch Macbook Pro. 

Included are two geometric dividers which can be split into two, providing a shelf-like structure enabling you to stack two smaller lenses on top of each other. These are fully removable and can be attached anywhere in the bag with tough velcro. 

On the rear, there's a padded carry handle which also doubles as a loop for attaching the back to a roller case and the shoulder strap, which has quite thin padding but does feel soft and moulds to the body well. The strap can be tucked away when not in use. It's connected to the bag on pivots, allowing it to adapt to movements from any angle. 

Also included are two cord hook external carry straps which can attach to the bottom of the bag via loops, enabling you to attach a small tripod or similar to the bag.

Compared to the older model, V2 has a number of improvements including a better strap design with anti-slip strap adjustment, wider main opening with dual zip pulls for better access, and completely recycled outer fabric. 

 

Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L Handling & Performance

The Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L feels very well made and we've long been fans of the simple, geometric style they offer. The dividers which can be folded into shelves origami-style are a great idea which adds even more versatility to the build. 

The bag is designed to be worn as a sling, with the padding for the strap placed as such, so you can't really wear it as a shoulder bag. If you want to do this, the 3L and 6L models are a better choice. 

The build quality is immaculate - and the 100% recycled shell feels really tough and robust. Dividers are thin but shockproof, minimising the amount of space that they take up. The internal pockets are clever, with stretchy material creating space for battery packs and chargers. Access is ergonomic thanks to the robust dual zip and compartment opening that faces towards you. For security, the zip can also be threaded through one of the attachment loops allowing you to lock it shut should you require.   

There's not a lot we can fault with this bag - perhaps more space for personal kit as this is the largest Everyday sling currently available, but that's about it. 

Value For Money

The Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L is available for £117, from the Peak Design website. This is a lot of money to part with for a small bag, but when you bear in mind the lifetime warranty and superior build quality as well as the practicality of the bag, it could be the only shoulder bag you ever need to invest in. It could also easily be used for pursuits other than photography. 

Other bags with similar build quality but a more traditional design to consider would be Tenba's Skyline collection, offering a range of modern looking bags. These, however, aren't as ecologically minded and don't have a robust outer shell like the Peak Design offering.

Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L Verdict

The Peak Design Everyday Sling 10L is a great option for those that want to travel light. With an inconspicuous yet modern design, innovative geometric origami dividers and a 100% recycled outer shell that's weather-resistant, there's little not to like about this bag. Weighing only 880g, it's light for a bag of its size.
