Peak Design Slide
The Peak Design Slide is a camera strap that can be used three ways - as a neck strap and a shoulder strap but primarily as a sling worn across the body. It's available in black or light grey with tan accents.
It's available for £51, and is suitable for use with any size of camera.
Compared to the older version of the Slide, the new version features a new silicone grip, upgraded webbing, and lower profile strap/hardware transitions. The anchor connections have also been upgraded to be smaller, faster and more secure.
Peak Design Slide Features, Handling & Performance
The Peak Design Slide is quite a chunky strap, with a width of 4.5cm. There's a max length of 149cm and a minimum length of 101cm. In the box, you get the strap, 4 anchor connectors, and an anchor mount.
Anchors are Peak Design's solution for attaching the camera to the strap. You just attach the anchors to either side of your camera (or to the anchor mount) and clip them into the anchor points on the strap. The idea is that you put anchors on all your kit, so that you can use the same strap with any camera in your collection. To unclip, you just depress the anchor and push it upwards.
The strap has low-profile internal padding in the middle for extra comfort. On one side of this is silicone gripping, so that you can flip the strap when you don't want it to slide. The side that will be against your neck is smooth, without a grip so that it can glide over your collar. The gripped side is handy for wearing the camera strap over one shoulder.
There are quick adjusters at either end of the strap, which feature a catch that can be lifted and then pulled to adjust the length of the strap easily. The strap itself is made from seatbelt-style nylon webbing, and the grey (ash) edition that we have here features leather accents.
The anchor clips feature stainless steel springs. The strap has a lifetime warranty.

Handling & Performance
The Peak Design Slide is a sleek and well-made strap that offers some great design ideas, particularly the anchor system which allows you to attach anchors to all your cameras, and attach them to the strap as and when you need them.
The anchors connect with a firm push as reassuring click, and the system feels very solid. The anchors are rated to 90kg of force, which is nice to know if you'll be using the strap with heavy kit.
The tan leather accents and blue stitching on the ends of the grey version of the strap we have on test here look great, and everything is made of the best materials, from stainless steel springs in the anchor points to glass-reinforced nylon adjuster hardware.
Value For Money
The Peak Design Slide is available for £51. This is a fair amount of money to part with for a strap, but it could be the only strap you ever need to buy. It features a lifetime warranty and the ability to be used with any of your cameras.
4 anchors are included, so that's two cameras which can be set up for use with the strap straight out of the box. More connectors can be bought separately.
There are a massive variety of camera straps out there, but few that offer the ability to be extended and worn as a sling or over the shoulder as well as around the neck.
