Pentax has won a TIPA award in the "Best Professional DSLR" category for the Pentax 645D Medium Format Digital SLR. It won the award for five key features: high image quality thanks to a 40 megapixel sensor, high quality lenses, design, build and features, all glass trapezoid pentaprism finder, and dust and weather resistant megnesium alloy body.

"Pentax Imaging Systems is pleased to announce that the PENTAX 645D lens-interchangeable, medium-format digital SLR camera, has been selected the Best DSLR Professional in Europe 2011 by the prestigious Technical Image Press Association (TIPA).

The PENTAX 645D, which was launched in the UK in September 2010, was singled out because of the camera’s exceptional image quality, excellent reliability and outstanding operability."
