If you've invested in a Pentax camera recently, or were given one as a gift, here are some top accessories that you shouldn't be without.

Pentax Accessories Ideal For A New Camera Owner: Pentax Q bag

Camera bag

To protect your camera from the scrapes and bumps it may encounter while you're exploring, it's worth investing in a well padded camera bag that fits your gear perfectly. Pentax produces a range of camera bags for all different types of cameras with added room for extra lenses if you've got a DSLR or mirrorless kit. From the stylish to the practical, there is something for everyone to help keep kit safe and well.

Power adapter kit

If you're travelling abroad in the future, the chance is you'll need to recharge your camera at least once while away. Make sure you have an adapter to enable you to use the local plug sockets. Multi adapter kits can be purchased from Pentax, meaning you're covered pretty much wherever you go in the world.

Hurricane blower

These can be picked up pretty cheaply from the web or in dedicated camera stores and are ideal for dismissing dust and other particles that can land on your lens during shooting, causing unsightly blobs and blur to appear in your images. It's light and can be easily packed, so you shouldn't be without one on your travels.

Pentax Accessories Ideal For A New Camera Owner: lens pen

Lens cleaning pen

If you're going to be using your camera outdoors and near the sea and sand a lot, the chances are at some point the lens will get a little spray or dust on it. To avoid scratching the lens, use of a professional lens pen is recommended to remove any stubborn particles. The Pentax lens pen is compact and is safe for use on all types of lenses.

SD cards

Make sure you take spare SD cards with you, to avoid running out of space while you're out. It may be worth investing in a Wi-Fi enabled SD card. These cards will enable you to transfer your photos over to a laptop or mobile phone after they've been taken, allowing you to continue to take photos without having to worry about the memory card getting full. These cards are compatible with the majority of Pentax cameras large and small, but it's worth checking compatibility with your camera before purchasing.
