Pentax has today announced a new addition to the award winning Chameleon camera range – the Optio RS1500.
 
The new Optio RS1500 gives style conscious photographers the chance to customise the camera’s skin to match their mood or their outfit. From images of friends to pictures of your favourite pet, accessorising your camera is now even easier with the RS1500’s new screwless design. Now all you need to do is place your favourite image on the camera and clip the protective layer over the top to create a unique looking camera every time.
 
The Optio RS1500 takes personalisation to the next level with added customisable rings. Match these to the skin or mix them up for even more fun!

 
The Optio RS1500 comes with ten ready-made unique front skins. You can also easily customise the camera yourself as it also comes with five blank pre-cut paper foils. In addition, the new Optio RS1500 includes two lens rings – black and orange, so you can begin customising your camera straight away.

This stylish camera features a subtle aluminium design and also offers a 4x wide-angle zoom (equivalent to 28-112mm in 35mm), a 3 inch LCD display and HD video recording (1280x720 pixels, 30fps).

In addition the Optio RS1500 features a 14 Megapixel CCD sensor and an advanced Movie SR (Shake Reduction) mode which automatically compensates for blur due to movement, in order to guarantee great quality videos.

The Optio RS1500 also comes with a Face Priority mode which instantaneously and precisely detects faces. Once the face is detected, the camera automatically adjusts the focus and exposure before taking the picture.
 
This compact camera also has other features which make it easier for the photographer when shooting, such as the Smile Detection and Natural Skin Modes which guarantee your photos look great first time.
 
The Auto Picture Mode automatically selects one of 15 scene modes (8 classic modes, plus 7 new ones including Blue Sky and Sunset) and optimises the different camera settings to obtain the best results every time.
 
With its 9 creative digital filters, including retro, sepia and "toy camera", the Optio RS1500 enables you to add visual effects to your pictures without the aid of a computer.
