The Photo Month challenge is to become 'Daily Competitions' as part of ePHOTOzine's bid to streamline and modernise the site.

Photo Month is a popular draw amongst members of the site, allowing you to enter photos into a daily competition topic, with a winner announced quarterly each month. Because it is, in essence, a competition, we've taken the decision to move the daily forum topics into the competitions forum, and re-name them as 'Daily Competitions'.

From a member perspective, how the competitions work will remain the same - you'll just need to go to the competitions forum topic instead of the Photo Month one.

There will still be a wealth of inspirational techniques and features published daily to help you get motivated - these can all be found under the 'How To' tab on the homepage.

Daily Competitions Q&A

What is the daily competition?

Every day, a new competition will appear in the forums, which you can enter photos into, just like you used to for the Photo Month competition. Every week, an image from each day's forum will be chosen, and then from these shortlisted images an overall weekly winner will be chosen to win a prize!

Who can upload images?

Any member who wants to join in is welcome to enter.

How many images can be uploaded? 

We've not put a limit on the number of images that can be uploaded. Some upload one, others showcase a few shots they've taken. 

How do I add images to the forum?

Do the images have to be taken on the day?

Even though we encourage people to get out and about with their cameras we understand that life doesn't always allow you to post images on the day so are quite happy for you to add them to specific forums at a later date. 

Do they have to be new images? 

We are happy for you to dig-out old examples from your collection that will fit the themes too. 

What are the themes?

The theme changes daily – we try to encompass all genres of photography through the daily themes.

Who can win?

Currently only those living in the UK and Ireland are eligible to win the weekly prize. However, we'd encourage entries from elsewhere to enter even if it's just to share their photography and better their skills. 

What is the prize?

Currently, the prize is a Samsung EVO Plus 32GB MicroSDHC card with SD adapter. This class 10 UHS 1 Grade U1 card offers read speeds 95MB/s and write speeds of 20MB/s. There's a 10-year warranty included, and the card comes with Samsung’s 4-proof technology: water, X-ray, Magnet and temperature. The included SD adapter allows you to use the card across multiple devices. 

How often is a winner chosen?

We pick a winner weekly so if you want to be in with a chance of winning a prize, you need your images to be in the forum before each week ends.

Who judges the competition?

It's something that's done in-house by the editorial team. 

Where are the winners announced?

We create a news announcement and then contact the overall winner via PM. The winners will also be listed in a sticky topic at the top of the competitions forum.

New techniques and features are posted daily in our 'How to' section, check this out for inspiration.
