When you select the Content-Aware Fill tool in Adobe Photoshop 2019, you'll find a new sampling area option in the form of 'Custom' which now sits alongside 'Auto' and 'Rectangular'. Now, before we get into how these work, the Content-Aware tool, for those who are unfamiliar with it, can be used to quickly remove/replace an area of your image with a sample from another area of the shot. It's quick, easy to use and after some adjustments, it's now a pretty cool tool.

"Find out how this Adobe Sensei-powered feature is becoming even more intelligent and more powerful," Adobe.

Many users have asked for a 'Custom' option when using the Content-Aware tool and with the new version, they get this so they can choose their own area of an image they want the tool to sample from. For those of you with a little less time on your hands, you can use the 'Auto' tool which chooses the area of the photo it thinks is the best to sample from. 'Rectangular' is an option that's been in place since the 2018 version of Adobe Photoshop was released.

You can currently access Adobe Photoshop as part of the Creative Cloud Photography plan from Adobe which is available on Amazon UK* for £119.99.
