Pixology announced today they've invested in an Indigo Platinum printer giving them a competitive market advantage over their European counterparts.

The purchase means that Pixology can offer a significantly increased range of innovative photographic products to new and existing retail partners including BT, Dixons and Jessops.

Digital camera consumers are demanding greater quality and more creative and innovative formats from photographic products and services according to Pixology.

"Pixology's investment in an Indigo Platinum means that our retail partners can now offer consumers a whole range of new products that they've never seen before," said Yuval Yashiv, the company's chief executive.

"Consumers are used to buying 6 x 4 inch photographic prints. But with our Platinum digital printer, they can now just as easily order personalised greeting cards, calendars, photo-booklets and album pages.

"This is where the real digital photography revolution lies - at the consumer face. Our retail partners are very excited about this opportunity as it gives them additional value, introduces loyalty and encourages people to convert to digital photography."

Pixology's newly developed Connectivity technology along with the Indigo Platinum high speed, print-on-demand digital offset printer together enable users to easily create and order double-sided, multi-image products (e.g. album pages with captions) from the convenience of their homes.

Pixology will be one of the first European companies to use Indigo's liquid ink technology for this purpose within the digital photography arena.
