Value For Money
Prices vary depending on the type of paper you want (Matt or glossy) and the number of pages you add. You can also select hardcover and Layflat options. Our landscape hardcover layflat book cost £47.65. This included 3 sets of extra pages, which can only be added in sets of 4, which cost £11.70. Postage and packing were reasonable at £4.99 for courier delivery.
The order took about 7 days to arrive, via Royal Mail which isn't bad for the price of delivery. The book arrived packaged in a sturdy cardboard sleeve and was in perfect condition.
Pixum Android App & Photobook Verdict
Overall, we were very pleased with the functionality and ease of use of the app for Android. You might think that creating a photobook on a phone would be fiddly, but it was actually very intuitive and the app made it a breeze.
It's easy to move pages around, add or delete pages, and switch photos in and out until you're happy with the design. We loved how you can simply save your project right there on your phone and pick it up another time, and the variety of photo sources available (drawing from your phone library, MicroSD card or social media) was great.
The app tells you when photos aren't up to scratch, which was very useful, and enables you to adjust them in size until they'll be of acceptable quality for printing. It's really easy to stop editing and save your progress to your smart device - simply re-open the app and you can carry on creating, wherever you are.
The photobook itself looks great, with thick pages, a neat cover and professional semi-gloss finish. We'd be happy to use the book as a coffee table browsing book, or equally as a keepsake which was what we created here, to remember a recent honeymoon holiday. The layflat option makes the book a lot easier to browse and eliminates any worries of creasing the pages or struggling to see parts of images close to the centerfold. The images are very detailed and clear, for the most part. As can be expected, some of the lower-res smartphone images used to create the book are a little soft but this is no fault of the software.
