Press Release: Praktica Luxmedia 8403

Praktica are pleased to announce the addition of four new compact cameras to their collection.

Praktica Luxmedia 8403 - The whole world in a single picture
It's sometimes really annoying that the most beautiful scenes won't fit into the camera since the resolution ration is limited to 4:3 or 16:9.

This problem has been solved now in a very elegant way. The Praktica luxmedia 8403 offers an automatic panorama mode which creates astonishing images. Only three images at different angles have to be taken and the camera calculates a panoramic view out of it.

But that is not the only highlight the Praktica Luxmedia 8403 has up in it's sleeve. For the first time Praktica uses a Vario Domiplan lens in it's digital still cameras. Lovers of old Praktica cameras might still know the excellent image quality of Domiplan lenses. The Praktica luxmedia 8403 has 3x optical and 5x digital zoom and comes with a metal housing and giant 3.0in TFT monitor.

Last but not least: all settings done with the settings wheel are automatically faded in the monitor for a short time.

PRAKTICA Luxmedia 8503 - Small, slim and sexy
The little sister of the Praktica Luxmedia 8403 - the Praktica Luxmedia 8503 - is an ideal companion for all those who long for an 8Mp digital still camera with a Li-Ion rechargeable battery at a small price.

The Praktica luxmedia 8503 will be sold starting at end of May and has an 8Mp CCD sensor, a 3x optical and 5x digital zoom, a 2.7in TFT monitor, face tracking, 22 pre-set scene modes and supports SD as well as SDHC memory cards.

Praktica DCZ 8.2 - Ready for springtime
Spring has finally sprung! Nature awakes and millions of early bloomers are turning the world into a colourful wonderland. It's time for a stroll with your new 8Mp digital still camera.

The Praktica DCZ 8.2 is currently one of the most inexpensive 8Mp camera on the market. A convincing design paired with state-of-the-art technology turn this piece into a must-have. As an ideal companion for snapshot photographers, the DCZ 8.2 offers everything for high-quality pictures: a 8.0Mp CCD sensor, 3x optical and 5x digital zoom, a 2.4in TFT monitor, face-tracking and SD or SDHC support. 15 pre-set scene modes adjust the camera automatically to right settings for all kind of photo situations.

Praktica Luxmedia 12-XS - Black and Beautiful
The first 12Mp camera from Praktica is an enhanced development of its successful predecessor the Praktica Luxmedia 10-XS.

Packed into an extravagant black metal housing, state-of-the-art technology turns this little gadget into a digital all-rounder which tickles the urge to take pictures.

The Praktica luxmedia 12-XS comes with a giant 3.0in TFT-LTPS monitor, 22 pre-set scene modes, automatic face tracking, a PASM mode for optional adjusting of aperture and shutter speed and a 3x optical and 4x digital zoom.

One really cool feature is the so-called smile-detection. In this mode the camera only takes pictures if the person in front is smiling.

Videos are no problem either. The luxmedia 12-XS captures videos at a resolution of 320x240, 640x480 or 720x400 at a constant rate of 30 frames per second.
