Polaroid, who brought you instant photography sixty years ago, has launched the PogoTM Instant Mobile Printer, an inkless printing process that can instantly print photographs off your mobile phones or cameras.
"Polaroid introduced the world to instant photography more than 60 years ago, and this year we're redefining instant photography for the digital age," said Tom Petters, Chairman of Polaroid.
"PoGoTM is an innovative and easy way to share photos instantly and pictures come to life without ink," he continued.
The printer, which is roughly the size of a deck of cards uses Bluetooth or USB connection to receive pictures and create instant, full-colour digital photographs without the use of ribbons or printer ink.
Images that were once stuck on your mobile phone can now be printed into borderless, 3in by 2in photographs in less than sixty seconds. The printer, which weighs only eight ounces uses ZINK Photo Paper, a durable material that contains colourless cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals, which are activated through heat pulses. The paper is manufactured by ZINK Imaging and retails for between 20 to 30 pence per print.
"ZINKTM Zero InkTM Printing Technology elevates instant printing to a whole new level. With Polaroid PoGoTM, you don't have to process pictures at your personal computer or visit the high street anymore. The convenient pocket size means printing and sharing photos can once again be a social activity," said Tom Petters.
The Polaroid PoGoTM is available now and is priced at £99.
