Simply connect one FreeXWire unit (set to receive) to the Canon EOS 1D MkII using the FW43 two-step motor drive cable and a second FreeXWire (set to transmit) is used to fire the camera up to 500 feet away. The transmitting unit can be hand held and every push on the trigger button fires the camera or it can be mounted on a second camera and now the hand-held camera fires the second camera automatically. Should the maximum distance of 500 feet between 2 units be to short, one or more FeeXWire units can be used as signal relay units to extend the range.
The digital FreeXWire has many features, here are just a few:
Remote triggering of flashguns (Studio & Portable)
Remote triggering of Film cameras with winder/MD
Remote triggering of Digital cameras
Wireless TTL facility with Quantum Qflash
Fast shutter speed: 1/1000sec on leaf shutter & 1/500sec on focal plane shutter
13 flashes or shutter releases per second
4 zones: allows selective firing of chosen units only
Winter days leave us with a shortage of daylight hours for photography but you don't have to venture far to photograph birds during this season, making them a perfect subject choice.
