The rare and powerful Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6 L USM has arrived at MPB Photographic, the UK’s leading online retailer of second hand photographic gear.
At over 80cm in length and weighing in at 16.5kg, the Canon EF 1200mm is among the largest auto focus lenses available. Effectively hand built, this lens is a real feat of engineering, comprising of a metal body and mount with 13 glass elements. Two of these are fluorite elements so large they took almost a year to grow.
With only around 20 of these lenses thought to be in existence, a full list of owners has never been published. However, rumoured owners include a number of media outlets, Canon Professional Services and possibly several government or law enforcement agencies. It would appear that only a small number have fallen into private ownership resulting in the 1200mm being seldom seen on the used market but is now for sale in the UK with MPB.
Renowned for consistent and outstanding customer service, MPB is the biggest and best online retailer of used photographic gear in the UK. With a huge range of stock being constantly updated, MPB now has Canon’s rarest lens in stock, marking a period of significant success for the company as well as an exciting future.
Matt Barker, Founding Director of MPB, commented: ‘MPB has consistently proven itself to be the destination for used photographic equipment. We have experienced exceptional growth since launching in 2006 and acquiring the Canon EF 1200mm, embodies this success. We thank all our customers for supporting us and hope you enjoy the content that we will be bringing on the 1200mm over the coming weeks’
The Canon EF 1200mm is now for sale at £99,000 including VAT and MPB are open for enquiries on their dedicated sales line, 0845 459 0101, during office hours.
